M.B.Abbasi is former Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran and Iraq in 2008/10. He is not a career diplomat, but much credited by his intellectual orientation, though a banker and an economist by education and profession, his appointment to sensitive post was based on understanding on most vital issues of Middle East in reference to Iran. He was also deputed as special Envoy of the President of Pakistan to US, as a team leader for US assistance to Pakistan in 2008.

He is financial services professional with extensive experience across the government, non-profit and corporate sectors which have included senior management positions. His specializations are in financial services policy and political advocacy. Aalim-Johnson was Executive Director of the Rockaway Development and Revitalization Corporation, a non-profit community development organization.
