American economist, a professor of economics at George Mason University, research fellow at the Mercatus Center, adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute, and frequent contributor to Freakonomics as well as publishing his own blog, EconLog. He is a self-described economic libertarian. The bulk of Caplan's academic work is in behavioral economics and public economics, especially public choice theory. Caplan holds a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley (1993) and a Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University (1997).

Lou was the author, co-author or editor of four books and over 40 articles on the Middle East and other subjects. Lou was a Sergeant of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-55, an affiliation in which he took great pride. He was a Distinguished Visiting Lecturer on the Middle East at the U.S. State Department and Adjunct Professor at Marine Corp University in Quantico, Virginia. Lou also taught at West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Marine Corps University.

Camdessus, Michael

Michel Camdessus (born 1 May 1933) is a French applied economist and administrator who was Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 16 January 1987 to 14 February 2000. To date, he is the longest serving Managing Director of the IMF. Previously, he was Deputy Governor and Governor of the Bank of France from November 1984 until his move to Washington, D.C. He is currently president of the social initiative Semaines sociales de France (fr) (French social weeks) and is a member of the Commission for Africa established by Tony Blair.
