التواصُلُ بين أبناءِ الثقافةِ الواحِدة عَبر قُرونٍ وعُهودٍ يَتَأتّى بِدِراسةِ الكلمةِ المُدَوَّنة، ويؤتي ثِمارَه بالاستفادةِ مِمّا سَجّله عُلماءُ هذه الثقافةِ أو تلك عن مَظاهِر الحَياةِ المُتنوّعة آنذاك، ليعرف أبناءُ المراحل التالية تفاصيل اجتماعيّة ودينيّة واقتصاديّة وسياسيّة وعِلميّة يبنون عليها مَعرفتهم ويُتابعون مِن خلالها أعمالهم، ويستمرّون في شَقِّ طريقِ المعرفة الواسِع. فالحضاراتُ تُبنَى بتدوين مَعرفة كلِّ عهدٍ وثقافته وفُنونه، وتُراث الأُممِ يُحدّد مَكانَتَها وأسبقيّتها ومدَى تألّق أعلامها في زمانها.

The need for change in the instruction of the method of memorization of the Qur’an is no longer a discussion of if, but of how. Bilal Menon, the creator of Qur’an Companion, a Qur’an memorization app, justifies the need for integrating digital technology with traditional memorization methods by sharing his story of memorization of the Qur’an. By the age of eleven, Menon had memorized the entire Qur’an, but as a teenager, he forgot it completely. As a university student, he began a new journey with the Qur’an, and revived his link with the Qur’an.

(Re)Thinking Primitivism, Cubism and the Agency of the Mask: Three Forms of Improvisation

This paper calls for a reassessment of three forms of improvisation: primitivism, cubism and the agency of the African mask. Towards the end, this essay will investigate the symbolic and cultural forms, which can be found specifically in the space of the African mask. Secondly, the essay explores the dynamic relationships of space found in African architecture, for example, the tripartite relationships of cosmology, time and community life that exists in Dogon architecture.
