Abstract

The book attempts to show the superiority of the interest-free system to the interest-based system by comparing the two. It explains that the removal of interest-based institutions would be the start to a better monetary order. Chapter one explains the Islamic approach to money, banking and monetary policy and the second chapter addresses banking in an Islamic framework. The third chapter explains the rationale of Islamic banking and the following chapter discusses the economics of profit sharing. Chapter five is concerned with monetary theory of Islamic economics and the last chapter addresses issues in Islamisation of banking. The book also provides an index._x000D_ _x000D_
