The author attempts to look at Ibn Taimiyah's economic thought with an eye on showing how his ideas are pertinent to the contemporary world. The thinker being studied was, according to the author, one whose work had a deep effect on the times that came after him. It is believed that an insufficient amount of focus has been placed on the role of Muslims in developing economic thought. The works written on Ibn Taimiyah have not paid enough attention to his economic work.
