The authors divide their work into two sections--one on the principles of Islamic banking and the other on the history and the activities of Faisal Islamic Bank, a firm located in Sudan. The first section, in which the theory of Islamic banking and an analytical system are laid out, contains a part on Islamic banking's history, a part on the concepts of interest, profit, and surplus, and a part on the modern banking scene in Sudan.
