The Art of Islamic Banking and Finance: Tools and Techniques for Community-Based Banking

Argues that a new brand of American banking for people of all faiths (especially Abrahamic) is a viable expansion of the theories behind Islamic banking. This brand, Riba-Free (RF) banking, is based in principle on the prohibitions of interest found in the Jewish and Christian Bibles and the Quran. Argues that commodity indexation will help to avoid participation in economic crisis and bubbles. Concludes by outlining methods in which to incorporate Shariah law into American financing systems, thus providing a means to augment socially responsible investing.
