This book is a record of the results of an International Seminar on Islamic economics held at the University of Sokoto in February 1985. It contains six chapters, all containing papers relevant to the subject of the chapter. The first chapter deals with the foundation and methodology of Islamic economics. The next is concerned with resource allocation and utilization. Chapter three addresses money, banking and financing in Islam and the following chapter examines population, labor management and welfare. The fifth chapter is on growth, development and economic integration of Ummah, and the final chapter deals with the economics system of the Sokoto caliphate.
