Justice Usmani discusses the reasoning behind the Supreme Court of Pakistan's decision to make riba, or usury, illegal. While others argue that riba is no longer viewed as something abhorrent to society and that people will commit riba even if it is made illegal, the Court still decided that it was a crime. In the reasoning the analogy was used that murder is illegal, yet there are still murderers, but that does not diminish the fact that murder is a crime.
