Abstract

The work is the first study of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to be published. The author was the organization's vice-president for seven years, and was the first person to hold that post. The writer, who was a figure in the bank's foundation, discusses how the body came to develop its present global sway. The organization's track record is evaluated. Suggestions are also given for managing the IDB on through the coming years.
