Abstract
Analyzes the impact of the Fiqh Academy ban on tawarruq transactions, and the views in favor and opposed to tawarruq that preceded the ban. Also contrasts the difference between classical tawarruq and contemporary tawarruq. Concludes that a primary cause behind abuses in tawarruq is the limited role of Shari’ah board in Islamic financial institutions.
