Abstract

This book examines the validity of options and futures from an Islamic viewpoint. The author uses the principle of maslaha, consideration of public interest, and interpretation of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)to support his viewpoint. The first part of the book describes futures trading and markets, the second part analyzes whether futures trading is in accordance with Islamic law (examining risk-taking and speculation), and the third part analyzes options.
