Dr Aisha Y. Al-Mannai is the Director of the Muhammad Bin Hamad Al Thani Center for Contribution to Civilization (CMCC) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. She is also a member of the Arab Parliament, the Shura Council (Qatar) and League of Arab States. The author of several articles and books on theology, tasawwuf and religions, Prof. Aisha is the recipient of several awards which include the Medal of Honour for Arts and Sciences of the first level from the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Community Service Award from the United Arab Emirates, the first GCC Excellence Award which she received from His Highness Emir Shaykh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and the Henry Davison Award from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies – Switzerland.
Dr Aisha holds a Ph.D. (1990) and MA (1985) in Creed and Islamic Philosophy from Al-Azhar University, Cairo. She completed her BA (1981) in Shariah from Qatar University.
