Shari’a Objectives for Civil Society

This workshop will discuss what Islamic Shari’a aims to achieve through its provisions, and will explain the major responsibilities in building an integrated human personality that would be able to participate in the renaissance procession. The workshop will also shed light on the importance of ethics and its relevance to religion. The workshop will be held every Monday of January 2022.

Academic Writing Skills in Arabic

As a student workshop series, Academic Writing Skills Workshops will be held every Wednesday of November 2021, for four themes conducted by 4 different faculty members from CIS and CHSS.

Maker Majlis - Science, Faith, and Innovation for Human Dignity (Schifa)

‘Science, Faith and Innovation for Human Dignity’ is an upcoming program hosted by the College of Islamic Studies. It offers an opportunity for young scholars, professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators who aspire to plan, engage, reflect, and act upon the nexus of science, faith, and innovation to respond to global challenges that undermine social cohesion and human dignity.

The four-module program will include:

Islamic Geometric Patterns - Public Workshop

This workshop will serve as an introduction to Islamic geometric art for all skill levels. Students will learn how to create their own patterns and work with different mediums, including watercolors, pearl colors, and gold sheets. All supplies and materials needed for the workshop will be provided. 

Instructor: Suzanne Ghadanfar, Architect

Classes will be held on March 17, 18, 20, 24, 25. 

Workshop Fees:

  • QAR 1,750 for the public
  • QAR 1,300 for QF members

The workshop will be held in English; Arabic speakers are welcome.

Maker Majlis - Youth Advocacy Edition

The aim of this program is to address the direct involvement of adolescents and youth in the design processes of stakeholder institutions, using the Human-Centered Design approach, which is a collaborative and creative problem-solving methodology. It is aimed for youth to discover how they can bring the problems in their daily lives to the national agenda of the country.
