Journal Summary
| Tabayyun is a quarterly peer reviewed journal published by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, dedicated to philosophy and critical theory. In addition to emphasis on clarity of expression and critique, Tabayyun encourages analysis of concepts and assumptions, argument, and theoretical construction and deconstruction in order to reach clear and well-supported conclusions about the relevant issues. Tabayyun does not place emphasis on area of specialization as much as clarity of thesis and expression, critical orientation, and theorization of the topic under discussion. The journal seeks to sustain a long Arabic tradition of critical thinking which goes back to the Arab Renaissance (Nahda) at the turn of the 20th Century, and to build intellectual linkages between contemporary Arab scholars and their predecessors, as well as with international scholars and intellectual traditions. |
