A very small number of countries in the Muslim world are classified as rich, such as the Arab Gulf countries, or enjoying a relatively high level of industrialization, such as Turkey and Malaysia. Apart from these exceptions, the Muslim World is generally suffering from underdevelopment and poverty. In this lecture, Abdelrahman Yousry is reviewing and discussing some arguments that have been raised recently about the ability of Muslim countries to develop mainly because of their religious culture.
