"HBKU-UNDP Webinar Series: Islamic Social Finance and SDGs"

The first session of the three-part webinar series on financing the SDGs via the Islamic social finance model will focus on the potential of Zakat financing modality to fill the SDGs’ funding gap. The session will showcase how BAZNAS (National Zakat Board Indonesia) innovatively applies Zakat funds towards supporting local SDG projects in underserved communities. It will also highlight how the BAZNAS Zakat model for development can be replicated and utilized in other regions worldwide.

Moderated by Dr. Aamir Rehman (Senior Advisor, UNDP), the webinar will have Dr. Irfan Beik present a case study on BAZNAS innovative model towards Zakat funds developments.
