Editing our children’s genomes has become a reality. The birth of the first gene-edited babies was declared in October 2018 and concurrently triggered huge controversies worldwide.
This lecture will examine the scope of parental authority on their children, while providing insights on the relationship between modern technology and the concept of Taghyir, through the lens of Islamic tradition.
