Abstract

The paper makes comparisons between Islamic microfinance and traditional lending on parameters such as business risks, repayments, administrative costs and growth. It compares three methods of financing, musharaka, mudaraba and murabaha, and talks about challenges and opportunities faced in customizing these three methods in order to address microfinance’s demands.
