Abstract
The author discusses how banking and insurance were reinterpreted by Muslim minds taking ethical aspects into consideration. The core idea behind takaful is expanded upon. While Islamic insurance has a bright future ahead, much depends on the ulama to endorse it, as they have endorsed Islamic banking.
