Muslims in Europe: a critique of occidentalist views

This is a critical review of the book entitled Muslims in Europe (Lewis and Schnapper 1994). The book is a collection of essays on the subject of Muslim populations in Europe, considering them from various aspects and standpoints. The review summarizes these essays, and then provides a critical review of their content. It then goes on to develop on the major theme emerging from this critique: namely, the idea of a sub-nation Islamic world view, and its economic and political implications.
