Abstract
Shari`a (the 'correct path') is a major legal system. Islamic revivalism has caused a return to shari`a in Muslim countries. This revivalism has affected nations in different ways. The diverse nature of religious spirit has led to different understandings of contract and riba (usury) law in Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. The differences that have emerged indicate the influence of such revivalism and identify trends in commercial law within shari`a.
