Risk, piety, and the Islamic investor

Whereas ethical investment has only recently become a topic of discussion in the Western world, in Muslim countries the question of ethics in investment has always been addressed. Islamic economics applies certain principles; whether Islamic banks actually conform to these principles is another question.
