Dr. Hussein Hamed Hassan serves as a Chairman of Shariah Board at Dubai Islamic Bank. He served as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor of Shari'a in the Faculty of Law and Economics at Cairo University from 1960 to 2002. During his s tenure at Cairo University, he was seconded to many academic and advisory missions to a number of educational institutions and heads of State throughout the Arabic and Muslim World, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Dr. Hassan was an Advisor and prepared Civil Codes and Islamic Shari'ah Law framework for the resident of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, President of the Islamic Conference of the Muslim World and General Secretary of the Muslim World League, Saudi Arabia etc. He has extensive experience in the field of Islamic finance acquired over the fifty years, where he worked as a Legal and Economic Consultant for several countries as well as Islamic organizations.
