Head, Private Law Department, International Islamic University Malaysia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Engku Rabiah Adawiah Engku Ali is currently the head of the Private Law Department, Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained her LL.B. (sharica) with first class honors from IIUM. She successfully completed her Master of Comparative Law (MCL) with distinction from IIUM. She was later conferred a Ph.D. in law by the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She teaches both sharica and civil law—with particular interest in the areas of Islamic transactions, company law, and securities regulation—at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her publications include a number of articles in various journals and periodicals in Malaysia. She has also presented in seminars, workshops, and in-house training on Islamic banking and finance.
