International Consultant, Fulbright & Jaworski; Houston, Texas Walid Hegazy is currently working as counsel at Fulbright & Jaworski LLP in Houston, Texas and is currently writing a dissertation on the theory and practice of Islamic finance. His thesis focuses on the theory of daman and the practice of Islamic finance. Hegazy is fluent in Arabic, English, and French. He holds LL.M. degrees from Harvard Law School and Paris IX University. Hegazy worked for the law firm of White & Case in New York City and for Baker & McKenzie in Saudi Arabia. He is admitted to the Cairo Bar Association and has been a member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 1991 and the American Bar Association since April 2003.
