Chief Academic Officer, INCEIF, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Malik Muhammad Mahmud Al-Awan currently serves as chief academic officer at INCEIF (Central Bank of Malaysia), is a practicing attorney of international law, and a Professor Emeritus at Pakistan’s National University of Sciences & Technology. He has several years experience in the fields of Islamic finance, law, and telecommunications. His numerous accomplishments include building the East-West Co-existence Framework for Islamic Finance, serving as chairman of the Technical Communication Corporation (a NASDAQ company) from 1998 to 2002, and publishing a book in the United States, entitled Foreign Capital and Development Process. Al-Awan earned an LL.M. in Comparative American Law from Boston University after completing a LL.B. in Islamic Jurisprudence and Contract Law at Punjab University. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Monetary Economics from Clark University in 1976, a Masters in Comparative Economic Systems and Development Finance in 1972, and a B.A. in Classical Arabic Literature and Research Methodology from Punjab University in 1970.
