(Senior Researcher, Mossavar-Rahmani Cener for Business & Government, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Cambridge, MA) Marcy Murninghan has been a scholar-practitioner, activist, writer, educator, and public servant for over 30 years. She is founding president of The Lighthouse Investment Group, which consults on fiduciary duty and corporate social responsibility for institutional investors. She has served as a senior researcher at the CSR Initiative at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard’s Kennedy School to report on the intersection of Web 2.0 and corporate accountability, or The Accountability Web. She co-founded the Consultation on Sustainability and Transparency in the U.S. (COSTUS), a nationwide network of leaders in the CSR / SRI / sustainability movement. She has consulted to the Global Reporting Initiative, Ceres, Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, KLD Research & Analytics, Council on Foundations, Ford Foundation, Boston Foundation, and New York State Comptroller, among many others. She holds a PhD in Law, Politics and Education from the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, a masters’ degree in Organizational Management from Antioch University and a bachelor’s degree in Religion from Albion College and has conducted post doctoral research at Harvard Divinity School, Harvard University. She has had scholarly appointments at Harvard, Babson, UNH, UMass Boston, and Tufts University.
