(Shari‘a Advisor, BMB Islamic, London, UK) Ahmad is a U.K. based Shari‘a scholar specializing in Islamic Commercial Law. He currently serves as the in-house Shari‘a advisor for BMB Islamic, advising clients on the structuring and post launch of Shari‘a compliant financial products. He also lectures MBA students of Banking and Finance at the British Institute of Technology and E-Commerce (B.I.T.E). He has both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from Nadwa University (India) and Islamic University Deoband (India) in Shari’a Sciences and Islamic Law, and a post graduate degree in Islamic Banking and Finance Management from Loughborough University (U.K.) He is the general editor of Shari‘a-Compliant Private Equity: A Primer for the Executive, forthcoming for Euromoney Books and a co-author with Shahzad Siddiqui of SS Law Corporation on several works including “Fruits†of the Orchard: Endowments for Mosques and Islamic Charitable Organizations in Western and Muslim Lands, also published by Euromoney.
