(President, 570 Asset Management, Paris, France) Anass Patel is the founding manager of 570 Asset Management, a company specialized in the structuring of financial solutions shari‘a-compliant. Anass was previously the Director of Investment & Strategy of DTZ Asset Management, where he was in charge of business development through innovative vehicles and strategic relationships with top-tier fund managers. He has built key management accounts with GE Asset Management (on behalf of GE Pension Trust at the European level), Dubai Islamic Bank for the Al Islamic Pan-European property fund compliant with the sharia rules, AMP Capital with the Global Direct Property Fund, or the Hexagone fund, a co-developed French property fund with Aviva Investors. He previously worked at GE Capital as an investment specialist and later as a risk specialist in Europe and the US. He also worked for the international property developer HRO as head of the research department. Anass has a post-graduate degree from Ecole Centrale Paris and is graduated from ESC Lille business school. Anass is also the founder-president of AIDIMM, a non-profit organization that promotes Islamic finance in France and French speaking countries. He has published many papers and co-authored different books on Islamic Finance, both in French, such as La Finance Islamique à la française: un moteur pour l’économie, une alternative éthique (Secure Finance 2008), and in English such as Islamic Investment Banking (Euromoney 2010) and Growth of Sukuks (Euromoney 2011). Anass set up the first shari‘a-compliant residential mortgage with a French bank thanks to the newly established French regulations regarding ethical finance.
