Miller, Neil

(Global Head of Islamic Finance, KPMG, Dubai, United Arab Emirates) Neil D. Miller is a partner and Global Head of Islamic Finance at KPMG. Prior to this he was Global Head of Islamic Finance at Norton Rose LLP. He has been actively involved in the Islamic finance industry for over seventeen years and is a regular speaker and writer on Islamic financial topics. Now based in Dubai, Neil is establishing the KPMG Centre of Excellence for Islamic Finance. This unit recognizes the strategic potential for Islamic finance as it continues to grow in importance around the world and will allow KPMG to focus the delivery of products services intended to assist the development and growth of the industry. He was a member of the UK Treasury Islamic Finance Experts Group, a member of the FSA committee on Islamic finance and has worked closely with the Muslim Council of Britain and other bodies to promote and develop Islamic finance in the UK. In July 2009, his contribution to the cause of Islamic finance was acknowledged by the organizers of the ICG Sukuk Summit Awards with an award for his “Outstanding Contribution to Islamic Finance in the UK.” He was a panelist in the opening session Innovation and Authenticity at Eighth Harvard University Forum on Islamic Finance in 2008.
