Haron, Abdullah

(Assistant Secretary General, Islamic Financial Services Board, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) Abdullah Haron is the Assistant Secretary General at the Islamic Financial Services Board. His primary responsibilities are the development of prudential standards and guidance notes and fostering the relationship between the IFSB and external organizations especially with regards to the development of this prudential framework. He has participated in the IMF mission on Islamic Finance and has spoken at a number of international conferences. Abdullah is a member of the Basel Consultative Group, Basel Revised Core Principles Working Group, and of the Islamic Deposit Insurance Group of the International Association of Deposit Insurers. Abdullah received a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Ohio University.
