(Professor, Department of Economics, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) Aydin is currently the director of the Neuroeconomics and Well-being Program at Florida State University. The program specializes in well-being studies, both at individual and societal levels, conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of happiness related issues. Aydin received his bachelor's degree in Public Finance, his master's degree in International Economics, and doctoral degrees in both Education and Economics. He has been working as a researcher since 2002, conducting research on various economic and educational issues. Aydin has completed over thirty research projects, has authored six books, translated two, and co-authored three; he has also published many peer-reviewed articles. Furthermore, he writes op-ed articles in Zaman, the most widely circulated Turkish newspaper. Aydin's other article on human nature, “Human Nature vs. the Nature of Science and Technology,” was recently published in Different Cultures, One World: Dialogue between Christians and Muslims about globalizing technology, edited by Henk Jochemsen and published by Rozenberg Publishers.
