Director, Corporate Development, Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain Huma Sodher is director of corporate development in the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). Prior to AAOIFI, she served as senior vice president in an Islamic bank and as the vice president and head of legal affairs in the largest commercial bank of Pakistan. She is associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and FCIPA by AAOIFI. She was associated with A. F. Ferguson, a member firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Pakistan, for more than four years during completion of Chartered Accountant (CA) where she was involved in various statutory audits, limited scope reviews, and financial accounting and reporting assignments for a diversified portfolio of clients. She was awarded with Gold Medals by ICAP as well as the local CA institution. She graduated with degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Karachi, Pakistan. She has also served as Judicial Magistrate, Civil/Family Judge, under the High Court of Sindh, Pakistan. She has conducted training courses for professionals at various national organizations, including the Institute of Bankers of Pakistan, ICAP, and MCB Bank Limited. Presently, she is enrolled as a research fellow in the M.Phil./Ph.D. program at Karachi University, conducting research on Islamic banking law.
