Ali, Mohammed Imad

Manager, Central Shari‘a Group, HSBC Amanah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates Imad is a lawyer by profession and is finalizing his Ph.D. from International Islamic University Malaysia. His main professional responsibilities are to assist in product development, training, shari‘a compliance and auditing for HSBC Amanah, and to assist in transaction structuring and documentation from a shari‘a perspective. Ali worked for a British law firm, Denton Wilde Sapte, in their Islamic finance team prior to working with HSBC Amanah. He worked on both bilateral and syndicated financing facilities. Ali worked for an Islamic leasing company, the International Leasing & Investment Company, in Kuwait prior to working with Denton Wilde Sapte. He was involved in reviewing major leasing transactions and developing an Islamic finance contract legal package for new Islamic leasing and investment companies.
