(Visiting Research Fellow, Islamic Legal Studies Program, Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA, and Associate Deputy Director, Financial Supervisory Service, Seoul, South Korea) Yang is an associate deputy director at the Financial Supervisory Service, a financial regulatory authority of Korea. Previously, Ms. Yang worked for the Bank of Korea since 1995. Currently she is a visiting fellow at Harvard Islamic Legal Studies Program. She has served in various financial regulatory issues over 15 years including a member of a working group for Islamic Finance in Korea. She held key positions in the areas of international supervision, foreign exchange supervision, and corporate restructuring during Asian crisis. She also worked as a derivatives specialist at Securities Supervision department and banking analyst at Banking Supervision Department. Yang received her BS in Business Administration and MS in finance at Hanyang University, and MBA from Georgia State University in 2003. She was awarded for merit from the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission in 2008 and the Governor of the FSS in 2006.
