Hassan, Hussein A.

Vice President, Deutsche Bank AG, Dubai, United Arab Emirates Hussein A. Hassan trained in both law and Shari’a. He studied law in the UK first at the University of Lancaster and then at Oxford. He studied Shari’a in Hadhramawt in South Yemen and in East Africa. Hussein has practiced law specializing in commercial law. He has been a member of the faculty of Law at Oxford University teaching commercial law and a fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies teaching Islamic and Comparative Law. He has also been a consultant with a number of financial institutions, primarily Deutsche Bank and CSFB. Hussein then joined ABN AMRO bank as part of the Islamic Finance team before moving on to Deutsche Bank, where he is currently in charge of Islamic investment products.
