Associate Professor, International Islamic University Malaysia; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Norhashimah Mohd. Yasin is currently an Associate Professor in the Private Law Department at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) where she lectures in Islamic Law of Banking and Takaful as well as in the Law of Banking and Negotiable Instruments. On the corporate side, she was Independent Director of Hijrah Unit Trust Management Berhad that sold shari‘a -based unit trusts. She is currently a member of the Shari‘a Panel of Bumiputra-Commerce Trustee Berhad. She obtained an LL.B. (Honors) and an MCL from IIUM. She pursued her postgraduate studies at the University of Warwick, England, where she was awarded an LL.M. and a Ph.D. She subsequently obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance from IIUM. Yasin has been granted two research grants by IIUM to write Principles Affecting Banking Law in Malaysia as Illustrated by Cases as well as Legal Documentation on Islamic Banking in Malaysia.
