Senior international development executive, lawyer and leader with over 25 years of experience at the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund in strategy development, policy formulation and implementation, change management, negotiations, conflict resolution, and leading or advising on, complex and sensitive development projects, programs, and partnerships at the global and country level in all geographic regions. and served earlier in the Bank as Chief Counsel, Operations Policy and as legal advisor on Governance and Anti-corruption. Prior joining the World Bank in 1997, he worked as Counsel at the International Monetary Fund for several years. Hassane has lectured and published widely on various topics and was the co-editor of several volumes of The World Bank Legal Review. Hassane holds his LL.B from the Dakar University School of Law in Senegal and his Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in International Law from the University of Paris II Patheon-Assas. He received his DEA in International Economic Law from the Sorbonne, where he also obtained a DEA in African History. He also holds a Master of Laws from Harvard University. He is a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Justice and the Meta Council on New Architecture of Governance.
