(Director of Research & Training, Riphah International University, Pakistan) Muhammad Ayub is a globally renowned research scholar, teacher and trainer in Islamic economics, banking and finance. He is Director Research and Training at Riphah International University (RIU) Islamabad, Secretary General of the International Conference on Islamic Business (www.icib-riu.org), Editor of RIU’s Journal of Islamic Business and Management (www.jibm.org) and Member of the Shar’a Committee of the Bank of Khyber. He is also member of the board of advanced studies and research of the RIU. He has served the State Bank of Pakistan for 28 years in the areas of research, Islamic banking and training. Mr. Ayub has authored four books and contributed around four dozen Papers on almost all areas of Islamic economics, banking and finance. His book ‘Understanding Islamic Finance’ is serving as a textbook on Islamic finance and has been translated into Arabic, Malaya Bhasa and Urdu. He has also presented a number of papers at various international forums.
