President, Islamic Development Bank; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Ahmad Mohamed Ali is currently President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), a post he has held since 1975, except for a brief stint as Secretary-General of the Muslim World League. Prior to joining IDB, Ali held various posts within the Saudi Ministry of Education, including Deputy Minister for Technical Matters, and acted as Rector of King Abdulaziz University. Ali received a B.A. in Commerce and a B.A. in Public Administration, both from Cairo University, and then an M.A. and Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and SUNY Albany, respectively.
