Mr. Rajesh K. Aggarwal Ph.D. served as a Consumer Director of Medica Health Plans, Inc. since 2008. Dr. Aggarwal serves as a Consultant to Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company. His areas of expertise include corporate governance, corporate finance and corporate valuation. He has an extensive background in the economics of organizations and has conducted research on bankruptcy, executive compensation, boards of directors, performance evaluation, and fraud. He has been a Director of Medica Health Plans, Inc. since 2008. He serves as a Director of Minneapolis Biomass Exchange, LLC. He is Associate Professor of Finance, Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Dr. Aggarwa is US BanCorp. Professor in Financial Markets and Institutions at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He was Associate Professor at the University of Virginia, Oxford University, University of Michigan and Dartmouth College. A frequent author and Presenter, Dr. Aggarwal has co-authored articles on such subjects as performance incentives, the diversification of firms and investment financing. His research interests cover all aspects of corporate finance including corporate governance, optimal capital structure, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, executive compensation, performance evaluation, boards of directors, the economics of organizations, bankruptcy, and fraud and stock market manipulation. His research has been published in top finance, economics, and law journals, such as the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Finance, and the Journal of Financial Economics. His honors include the Progress Investment Management Company Best Research Prize for his work on emerging hedge fund managers, the China International Conference in Finance Best Paper Award, the Financial Research Association Best Discussant Award, and the Review of Financial Studies Distinguished Referee Award. In 2002, he received the MBA Elective Lecturer of the Year award from the Said Business School at Oxford University, and in 2006 and 2007, he was named Most Outstanding Full-time MBA Elective Faculty Member by the Carlson School. Dr. Aggarwa received his BA in Economics from Yale University and his PhD in Business Economics (Finance) from Harvard University.
