Abeng, Tanri

Tanri Abeng served as the President Commissioner of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (also Known as TELKOM) from March 10, 2004 to January 1, 2011. Mr. Abeng serves as a Director at PT Tavesco Killara Energi. From 1980 to 1998, Mr. Abeng served as the President Director from 1980 to 1991 and President Commissioner from 1991 to 1998 of PT Multi Bintang Indonesia, Indonesia's largest brewery. He also served as the President Director of PTBakrie & Brothers from 1991 to 1998, was President Commissioner of PT B.A.T., Indonesia from 1993 to 1998 and was a Commissioner of PT Sepatu BATA from1989 to 1998. Mr. Abeng serves as the Chairman of the Executive Center for Global Leadership, co-chairman of the Indonesia-Malaysia Business Council and Member of theNon-Aligned Movement Business Council. He serves as President Commissioner at PT Pertamina (Persero). He has served as the Chairman of PT British American Tobacco Indonesia. He served as Commissioner at PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development Tbk until March 18, 2016. He served as an Independent Commissioner of PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk until August 11, 2016. Mr. Abeng was Commissioner of the Jakarta Stock Exchange. He served as a Commissioner of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk from March 10, 2004 to January 1, 2011. He was also a member of Parliament from 1993 to 1999 and was Minister of State-Owned Enterprises from 1998 to 1999. He was also a member of the People's Consultative Assembly. Mr. Abeng holds a degree from the University of Hasanuddin, Makassar in 1966, a masters degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York, Buffalo in 1968 and has completed the Advanced Management Program at the Claremont Graduate Schoolin Los Angeles.
