Abdul Majid, Abdul Rais

Abdul Rais Abdul Majid is Director and Chief Executive Officer, AssetCell Capital Sdn. Bhd, an organization set up in July 2005 to provide management and financial consultancy services. Prior to venturing out to run his own business, he was Senior Vice President/Head of International Banking and Head of Investment Banking at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad- His wide experience in financial services consultancy revolves around business advisory for Sukuk origination and Islamic finance training in Islamic Capital Markets, Islamic Fund Management and Islamic Stock broking industries in Malaysia and international offshore financial business- Mr. Abdul Rais joined the financial services sector more than thirty-five years ago upon graduation from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. Since then, he has served in various capacities, mostly at international locations, with Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Berhad, (BBMB — now CIMB Bank.) Throughout his career, he has been involved in several assignments to open new offices, i.e. in Los Angeles, USA, and Labuan offshore operations for the Bank. He also set-up the Labuan offshore operations for Bank Muamalat and served as its first General Manager.
