Islamic finance (IF) plays a pivotal role in the development of the real economy. It helps and stimulates economic activities and entrepreneurship, addresses poverty and income inequality, ensures financial stability, and promotes comprehensive human development in complex societies of the 21st century. IF and Islamic economics (IE) recognize the significant role of the voluntary Islamic financial sectors which uplift poverty, and eliminate homelessness and hunger.

Islamic Ethics and the Trusteeship Paradigm explores the emerging ethical theory examines the development of this modern Islamic theory of the trusteeship paradigm as developed by the Moroccan philosopher Taha Abderrahmane (b. 1944). The volume, with contributions in English and Arabic, examines the development of this modern Islamic theory of ethics and how it permeates various disciplines: philosophy, theology, legal theory, Sufism, moral theory, sociology and anthropology, communication, environment and biomedical ethics.

The Prophet Muhammad is considered the first commentator on the Qur’an and the exemplar whose actions teach Muslims how live and act in accordance with the Qur’an. Whereas the Qur’an provides accounts of the trials that previous messengers such as Moses and Abraham faced before their prophetic missions began, there are only a few allusions to the life of the Prophet Muhammad before the onset of his prophetic mission.

Contextualizing Entrepreneurship Education: An Introduction

This chapter provides an overview of existing studies in the literature which offer varying interpretations of contextualization. This chapter builds the overall framework of the book by arguing that contextualizing EE entails a number of attributes such as receptivity to learn from global experiences, undertaking national strategies and policies and finally being sensitive to dominant value systems in the society.
