Abstract
This study aims to explore the impact of blockchain technology on entrepreneurship advancement in Qatar, which will benefit the transformation to a knowledge-based economy and the reduction of Qatar’s dependence on the hydrocarbon economy. The study also sheds light on the Islamic perspective for both terms, Blockchain, and Entrepreneurship. The methodology of this research used a thematic analysis based on a qualitative research approach along with a literature review of various studies on entrepreneurship advancement and blockchain technology, exploring the Islamic perspective for both, with a focus on Qatar as a case study. Data from primary sources is collected through semi-structured interviews with different participants who have experience in entrepreneurship or blockchain technology in Qatar. The findings show the possibility of Blockchain technology on entrepreneurship advancement in Qatar. On the one hand, Blockchain has an enormous impact on the global economy and economy diversification, supporting the Qatari government’s decision to move to a knowledge-based economy; On the other hand, Blockchain is still in the experimentation stage and will require future research and real-life experiments before real-life application. It is shown that Blockchain has significant potential to be the standard technology that businesses will use in the future, like the Internet.
