This research cluster addresses the modern challenges and their impact on Islamic jurisprudence, while also developing innovative Islamic solutions. This will include studies on diverse areas such as Science, Religion and Contemporary Rulings; Islamic Law and Maqasid; and Codification of Islamic Law. The researchers are encouraged to explore subjects that add to the scholarly work and which offers a comprehensive and holistic view of the Islamic law, analyzing its consideration of the maqasid of Islam, science and the contemporary practices. The cluster also focuses on the practical application of the ethical concepts, particularly those emanating from Islamic sources to solve the contemporary moral and ethical dilemmas facing humanity. The researchers are particularly encouraged to explore applied areas of ethics when it comes to putting the theory of ethics to practical application for the real-world issues. The cluster has four priority areas of research: Moral Philosophy, Bioethics, Migration and Human Rights.
