Submitted by admin on Thu, 04/14/2022 - 02:30

The Islamic Civilization: Foundations and Institutions cluster explores the growth of Islam over history and studies the four areas that form the basis of Islamic civilization namely; theology, philosophy, mysticism and jurisprudence. It also studies the institutions that were introduced and developed within the Islamic civilization and were actively involved in the flourishing of the Islamic society. The projects under this cluster will be to connect and contrast the Islamic worldviews to its counterparts across time, space and creeds. This research cluster further engages with critical discourses on contemporary issues of Islamic civilizations globally. The researchers under this cluster are encouraged to examine and explore the relevance and role of Islam from a global and historic perspective and in light of the major economic, cultural and anthropological trends.
