The implication of the post Arab spring for Qatar foreign policy towards Egypt and UAE

The main purpose of this thesis is to examine Qatar's foreign policy implication toward the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the post-Arab spring period. This study examines the transition in the relationship before and after the Arab Spring 2011 in order to provide a clear view on how the relationship has changed or is changing, especially during the period during and after the Muslim Brotherhood's rule of Egypt. The study is important because it examines a topic that is not well-discussed by scholars. Moreover, it provides a better understanding of some of the historical, economical, and political events that have influenced the relationship between Qatar and the UAE. Finally, the study applies important theories in conflict resolution, including Accommodating, Collaborating, Competing, Avoiding and Compromising, in order to predict Qatar's reaction to solving the conflict and trying to keep a balance between it is great relationship with the GCC and ensuring that it maintains its independence in terms of foreign policy.
