Abstract
| Pursuing sustainability and converging to Circular Economy (CE) are fully synchronized with Sharia principles. However, the transition to CE is a difficult and lengthy process. It requires a fundamental change in the behavior of all relevant stakeholders, particularly consumers and producers. Knowledge is key in succeeding this transition and addressing the challenge of making it profitable or, at least, economically viable. Knowledge has to be seen as an economic resource or a factor of production with very particular characteristics compared to material resources. From Sharia perspective, gaining (beneficial) knowledge is highly encouraged. Using knowledge to converge to CE is fully in line with Sharia principles. |
